Deleting your account

Last updated: 24 September 2026

You can delete your ReachThem account yourself at any time. It takes effect straight away and cannot be undone.

1. How to delete your account

  • In the app: open the Me tab and choose Delete account.
  • On the website: sign in, open your profile and choose Delete account.
  • If you can't sign in: ask the people who run your organisation on ReachThem to pass your request to us. We will confirm it is you, delete the account and reply within one month.

2. If you own an organisation

If you are the last owner of an organisation that other people or registrations still rely on, we will ask you to make someone else an owner first, so that nobody loses access to their teams and events. You will see which organisations this applies to. An organisation with nobody else in it is closed along with your account.

3. What happens to your information

  • Your account — your name, email address, phone number, photo, sign-in methods, devices and notification settings — is deleted.
  • Upcoming rota shifts are withdrawn, and the organisers of those teams (their team leaders, in a church) are told so they can find someone else.
  • Registrations for events that haven't happened yet are cancelled, and anyone on the waiting list may be offered your place.
  • Registrations for past events are kept for the organiser's records (numbers, payment and check-in) but anonymised as “Former attendee”: your name, your partner's and children's details, your phone number and your answers are removed.
  • Messages you sent in team chats stay in the conversation so it still makes sense for everyone else, shown as from “Former member”.
  • Events, series and teams you created stay with their organisation for the people who still use them, without your name attached.
  • DBS details are deleted. Your organisation's Safeguarding Officers keep only a note that a record was deleted, with no details.
  • Sign-in links, one-tap email links and app sign-ins stop working immediately.

Organisations that you belonged to may still hold records they need, such as a note in their activity log that a member left. Backups of the database are overwritten in the normal course of time. See our privacy policy for how long each kind of information is kept.
